A free press has often been called the fourth pillar of a democratic state, and the daily newspaper is its most familiar form. Every morning, it places before us a fresh page of the world, with its triumphs and tragedies, and invites us to be part of the conversation. A regular reader gains far more than information: the editorial columns train the mind to weigh arguments, the features open windows to science, art and literature, and the reports on corruption or injustice often prompt the authorities to act. For the young learner, a newspaper is also a daily lesson in language, because it shows how correct and precise English or Bangla is used in real life. Yet the age of fake news has made the reader’s task harder. A wise reader should check the source of a report, compare different papers and distinguish between fact and opinion. Used with this discipline, the newspaper remains one of the cheapest and most powerful means of making a thoughtful and responsible citizen.
Importance of Reading Newspaper Paragraph Bangla Meaning (HSC, Standard Version)
