We live in the age of science. From the moment we wake up till we go to bed, we are served by its inventions.
At home, electricity gives us light and runs fans, refrigerators, washing machines and televisions. A gas stove or an induction cooker makes cooking easy, and a clock tells us the time exactly.

Imagine a day without electricity: no light, no fan, no phone and no internet. We would feel helpless. This imagination shows how deeply science has entered our daily life.
At home, almost every comfort is a gift of science. Electricity lights our rooms, and refrigerators preserve food. Gas stoves, rice cookers and washing machines save time, particularly for women, and television gives entertainment and news. Even a simple alarm clock is a scientific instrument.
In education and communication, science has produced miracles. A student in a village can attend an online class, search for information through the internet and talk to a relative in another continent through video call. Trains, buses and planes shorten distances, and mobile banking lets a farmer send money to his family in a minute.
In medicine, vaccines have almost removed diseases like smallpox and polio, and surgery, X-rays and MRI have saved millions of lives. In agriculture, high-yielding seeds, irrigation and fertiliser have enabled Bangladesh to produce enough rice for its large population.
