Everyone has a dream about what he wants to be when he grows up. My dream job is to become a doctor.
I have chosen this profession because it is a noble one. A doctor saves lives and brings relief to suffering people. When I was a child, I saw my grandfather suffering without proper treatment in our village, and I decided to become a doctor. Many poor people in our country cannot get medical care, and I want to serve them.

A man without a dream is like a ship without a destination. Every person dreams of a career that gives him not only an income but also joy and meaning. My dream job is to become a doctor, specifically a physician who works for the poor.
The seed of this dream was sown in my childhood. One night, my younger cousin got a high fever, and there was no doctor in our village. We had to carry him to the town in a van through the dark road. I was frightened, and I told myself: if I were a doctor, no child would suffer like that. Since then, the white coat and stethoscope have been the symbol of my dream.
I have chosen medicine for three reasons. First, it is the most direct way to serve humanity; a doctor’s skill can save a life within minutes. Second, the profession demands knowledge and constant learning, which I love. Third, Bangladesh has a shortage of doctors, especially in rural areas, and I wish to do my small part to fill the gap.
A good doctor needs many qualities: intelligence to understand diseases, patience to listen to patients, honesty to give a correct diagnosis, courage to take quick decisions and above all, kindness. A doctor who loves money more than patients dishonours the profession.
To prepare, I am working hard on biology, chemistry, physics and English, and I read about health and nutrition in newspapers and magazines. After HSC, I shall sit for the medical admission test and, if I succeed, will study MBBS and later specialise in child health. I also volunteer in blood donation drives in my school to learn about service.
In the future, I plan to work in a rural health complex for some years and then set up a small clinic where poor patients are treated free on certain days.
I know that the path is difficult and the competition is great, but I have a firm determination. If I can ease the pain of even a few people, my life will be successful.
