A man without an aim is like a ship without a rudder. Everyone should set a goal in his life early and work for it with all his heart.
My aim in life is to become a doctor. I have chosen it because I have seen how the poor people of my village suffer for lack of treatment. Once my grandmother died because we could not take her to the hospital in time, and since then, I have decided to serve such people.
To reach my goal, I study every day, especially science and English. I never waste time and try to keep myself healthy. I also try to develop good character, because a doctor needs honesty and kindness.

Life without a goal is a journey without a destination: one may walk very far and arrive nowhere. The wise, therefore, choose their aim early, as a sailor fixes his eyes on the pole star.
My own aim in life is to become a doctor. The decision did not come in a day. In my childhood, I saw my grandmother die in the corridor of an overcrowded district hospital, because the doctor was not available. In that moment, helplessness turned into a purpose. I realised that a doctor is not merely a professional but a bridge between pain and relief, and in a country where thousands of villages have no doctor, that bridge is badly needed.
To prepare, I work in a disciplined way. I give the first priority to science subjects, practise English for medical studies, read about health in newspapers and volunteer in our school’s first-aid club. I also try to develop patience, because a doctor must listen as well as treat.
I am aware of the obstacles: the competition for medical admission is fierce, the cost of study is high and failure is possible. But I follow the advice of the old proverb that where there is a will, there is a way. If I fail, I shall try again, and if my first choice is closed, I shall find another way to serve the sick.
In short, my ambition is not riches but usefulness. If I can reduce even a little of the suffering of my people, my life will have been well spent.
