Student life is the seed-time of life. As the harvest depends on the seeds sown in the right season, the success of a person depends on the way he spends his student days. It is rightly called the ‘golden period’ of life, because what is learnt now lasts to the grave.
A student’s life is not a life of ease; it is a life of preparation. It demands the qualities of discipline, punctuality, curiosity and perseverance. An ideal student respects his teachers, obeys his parents and is kind to his classmates. He values time, because time lost can never be recovered.
The chief duty of a student is to study, but study does not mean only memorising lessons for examinations; it means understanding, thinking and developing skills. A student should read newspapers and good books, learn technology and develop his language skills. At the same time, he must look after his health through games and exercise, and develop his heart through cultural and social activities like the Scouts, debates and blood donation.

ছাত্রজীবন জীবনের বীজ বোনার সময়। যেমন ফসল সঠিক মৌসুমে বোনা বীজের ওপর নির্ভর করে, তেমন মানুষের সাফল্য নির্ভর করে ছাত্রদিন কীভাবে কাটে তার ওপর। একে ঠিকই জীবনের ‘সোনালি সময়’ বলা হয়, কারণ এখন যা শেখা হয় তা কবর পর্যন্ত থাকে।
ছাত্রের জীবন আরামের নয়; প্রস্তুতির জীবন। এটি শৃঙ্খলা, সময়নিষ্ঠা, কৌতূহল ও অধ্যবসায়ের গুণ দাবি করে। আদর্শ শিক্ষার্থী শিক্ষককে সম্মান করে, বাবা-মায়ের কথা মানে ও সহপাঠীর প্রতি দয়ালু। সে সময়ের মূল্য দেয়, কারণ হারানো সময় কখনো ফেরে না।
